best summer yet
It is crazy to think that most of spring semester, I was doing nothing else but stressing out about my summer plans. Back and forth between Minneapolis and Rochester, fighting with my parents non stop, crying, throwing fits, laying in bed for days to try and forget about my stresses. But in the end, everything fell into place. I decided last minute to take summer classes, which were not very fun, I'll have to admit. I will not be doing them again unless I'm studying abroad somewhere. I thought I was going to be miserable working at the law school library all summer, moving books from one floor to another for a "summer project". Thankfully, I got a new job at the language center on campus and its the best job. I get to sit on a comfortable chair, with my a computer and be on facebook. But on the side, I get real for done too, or they wouldn't have offered me a job for the fall. So I must be doing something right. I also worked on an internship for the Minnesota Lynx (for those who have no clue who they are, they are Minnesota's WNBA team). My wonderful and quirky Edwina aka Edward worked on the internship with me, which made is so much better. We taught kids the importance of fitness, reading, and nutrition. Oh my goodness, those kids were a handful and then some. But none the less the experience was great.
Then the real fun parts of summer come in....
I have made the best of friends this summer and became so close to the ones I had previous to this summer as well. We like to call ourselves, the summer group. Now that I think of it, we really could be more creative and think of a cooler name, dont cha think gang? There is not a single thing we did together, that was not fun. SUCH a great summer here in this wonderful city of Minneapolis. I know my friends at home think I just hate Rochester, but I don't hate it. I just have so many better opportunities here in the cities. I love Rochester, it will always be home but I don't know when the next time I'll actually be living there will be. Not anytime in the near future, that's for sure. I've just always been moving growing up, so staying in one place is not normal for me. Rochester was the longest place I've lived in. 8 years. I'm sure that eventually in a few years, I will want to move on from Minneapolis, actually Minnesota and find a new place to call home. But until then, let's just hope I finish and graduate on time.
would like to dedicate my first post to the best summer group evaaa. even though all except one are twitter freaks.
